eBooks at NMPL

New Milford Public Library is proud to announce that it is the first library in Connecticut to offer eBooks through the new platform from Baker and Taylor, Blio.  To use Blio you must download the free program to either a Windows or Macintosh based computer, set up an account* (using your New Milford Public Library card), and then download the book to your computer for a three week period.  The system is cloud based, which means that your checkouts will be available on your different devices after you have downloaded the program to them as well.  The devices with which Blio will work at present are the iPhone, the iPad, Android devices, and any Windows or Macintosh PC.  Blio will be adding compatibility with the Nook and Sony Reader early in the new year and with the Kindle in the spring.

Please note that Blio is completely separate from Evergreen, the system with which you check out non-digital items from NMPL. eBooks you check out online will not appear on your regular record  and may only be renewed online.  No fines can accrue because once your checkout period is over, you will lose access to the book.  Books may be renewed once, as long as no one else is waiting. Library staff will have no access to this Blio account, so all technical and account help must be obtained from Blio.
