The Flu and You

Preschoolers age 3 and their caregivers are invited to hear a storybook called “The Flu and You” by New Milford nurse, Geri Rodda at 10:00 AM. Geri will talk with them about being a nurse and children can practice nursing with on a Really Big Teddy Bear. Afterwards the children can learn about being Germ Fighters and do a fun craft to take home. Each child will get a signed copy of “Vaccines For Maxine” to help celebrate National Infant Immunization Week.  Nurse Geri was given "Connecticut's 2014 Immunization Champion Award" by the Centers for Disease Control and has written three books: “Lyme in Rhyme”, “The Flu and You”, and “Vaccines for Maxine”. Kathie Rocco, Immunization Outreach Coordinator for the CT Department of Public Health, will be on hand to talk about immunization topics and provide handouts for parents. Book Buddies

Children ages 4 - 8 can sign up in the Children's Library to be paired with a Young Adult patron in Grades 5 through 12 to be a Book Buddy and they can meet at the library and read together!
