The Reference Department was previously headed by Margaret Kistinger. However, due to a Town budget cut, the position of Reference/Information Services has been eliminated as of July 1, 2013.
The Reference Department staff provides reference services, updates the non-fiction collection and is responsible for all the interlibrary loans requested by patrons.

Microfilm Rental Programs
The library does not own any census microfilm but does participate in the
National Archives Census Microfilm Rental Program. This program allows patrons
to select specific microfilm reels from the census catalogs and then order them
for use in the library for up to six weeks. Catalogs, order forms and prices are
available at the reference desk.
In addition, we have just become the first public library in Connecticut to become a Family History Center affiliate library! This designation means that our patrons will have greater and more convenient access to the wealth of genealogical resources available
through the Family History Library. Please call 860-355-1191 x207 for more information.
