Blind Date with a Book Contest

New Milford Public Library invites students in grades 5 through 12 to enter our February Contest, "Blind Date with a Book". Spice up your life! Check out one of our wrapped, banned books, take it home and unwrap it. Show it your favorite spots to read, share your favorite snacks or show it off to your friends. Who knows, maybe you two have a future. If not, return it without any hurt feelings. Receive a raffle ticket for our February contest prize. Virtual Stock Market Game

Dare to try the Stock Market Experience? New Milford Public Library invites students in grades 4 - 12 to join the Virtual Stock Market Game. This game is an investment simulation where you receive a hypothetical $100,000 to invest in the stock market. This session runs until April 8, 2016. There are weekly lessons and the program is played entirely online. Register for this fun game and learn all about investing. Calling all teens and tweens, grades 6-12! Come and join NMPL's Young Adult Council. We meet monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM. This is your chance to get involved, contribute, hang out, be heard and have fun! Come and plan programs and events at the Library; recommend books, DVDs and music for the Library; earn community service hours (this looks good on high school or college applications); write reviews for the blog.

ON-GOING TEEN PROGRAMS

Book Buddies - Young Adult patron in Grades 5 through 12 can sign up in the Children's Library to be paired with a child aged 4 - 8 to be a Book Buddy and they can meet at the library and read together. The first session runs from September 28 through December 11, 2015. The second session runs from January 4 through May 13, 2016. Call 860-355-1191 x204 to sign up!
