New For Teens - New Milford Public Library has entered into a partnership with Driving-Tests.org, to offer free Connecticut DMV practice tests. This new service includes free tests, written specifically based on Connecticut's DMV materials (10 car tests, 5 motorcycle tests, 3 CDL tests and 3 online driver's manuals), and is the only site to include accessibility tools that allow users to hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, and magnify text for greater visibility on driving practice tests.

Stockmarket Game

This game is an investment simulation for grades 4 through 12. Receive a hypothetical $100,000 to invest in the stock market. There are weekly lessons and the program is played entirely online. The game begins February 2 and runs through April 10, 2015. Register for this fun game and learn all about investing. To get a Password and ID call 860-355-1191 x204 or email vfisher@biblio.org.

Annual Creative Writing Contest

Teens in Grades 6 - 12 are invited to participate in the Sixth Annual Writing Contest. Submit your completed Official Entry Form (obtained at the Library) and your Creative Writing Piece to New Milford Public Library by Saturday, May 16, 2015. Winners will be chosen by popular vote. Cast you vote by May 31st. PRIZES: 1st prize - $50 Visa Gift Card, 2nd prize - $25 Visa Gift Card, 3rd prize - $15 Visa Gift Card. For details, see Guidelines. Creative Writing (Grades 9-12)

New Milford Public Library invites students in grades 9 through 12 to join the Creative Writing Clubs. The meeting times for the High School Grades 9-12 is the first (1st) Wednesday from 4-6 PM. Come get writing tips, ideas, practice and share your writings. Also, you can join the staff of The Aura, our literary magazine!

Teen Book Club

This new club is open to all teens and tweens in grades 7-12. Come discuss your impressions and opinions on the book with other teens. The club meets the first (1st) Monday of the month from 6-7 PM. The book for April is TBA.

YA Council

Calling all teens and tweens, grades 6-12! Come and join NMPL's Young Adult Council. We meet monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM. This is your chance to get involved, contribute, hang out, be heard and have fun! Come and plan programs and events at the Library; recommend books, DVDs and music for the Library; earn community service hours (this looks good on high school or college applications); write reviews for the blog.

Minecraft Club

This new club is open to all teens and tweens in grades 7-12. Bring your own computer and come play with others and have snacks. The club meets the second (2nd) Monday of the month from 6-7 PM.

Chess Club

Join NMPL's Chess Club. We meet at 4:00 PM on the second (2nd) Tuesday of the month. The club is open to Grades K-12 and all skill levels are welcome. Come play or learn in a friendly, supportive environment.

Teen Cafe

This club is open to all teens and tweens in grades 6-12. Come to the cafe where admission is free and snacks are provided. Hang out with friends, watch anime, make crafts, chat, play games and do homework. This club is exclusively for grades 6-12 so come make it your own! The cafe will be held on the third (3rd) Wednesday of the month from 4 - 5:30 PM.

Teen Movie Night

For grades 5 through 12, gather your friends and come enjoy a screening of a movie TBA on April 17. The movie runs from 7 - 9 PM and dinner and snacks will be provided. Registraion is required so please register online or email vfisher@biblio.org

For Grades 5-12, come to the library at 2 PM for a fun Yo-Yo Day! Grab your friends and come learn the basics and maybe a trick or two, plus there are free yo-yos and door prizes!

Virtual Stock Market Game - Register for this fun game and learn all about investing
Book Buddies - Young Adult patron in Grades 5 through 12 can sign up in the Children's Library to be paired with a child aged 4 - 8 to be a Book Buddy and they can meet at the library and read together
New Milford Teen Blog - Come read and post your comments, suggestions, etc.
