Pokemon

Where's that Pokemon? For grades 6-12, your Pokemon adventure has begun! A Pokemon is hiding in a book somewhere in the Teen Zone or Young Adult area. Use the clues posted in the Junior library to locate the Pokemon and earn a raffle ticket for summer reading. When you find the Pokemon, check out the book at the front desk and show it to Mrs. Morin to get your raffle ticket. For more information, call 860-355-1191 x3 or email mmorin@biblio.org.

YA Cafe

This club is open to all teens and tweens in grades 6-12. Come to the cafe where admission is free and snacks are provided. Hang out with friends, make crafts, chat, play games and do homework. This club is exclusively for grades 6-12 so come make it your own! The cafe is held on the third (3rd) Wednesday of the month from 4 - 5:30 PM.

Speed Read

A new Book Club for Teens! Did you love it or hate it? At this meeting at 4 PM we will have a book talk on the books you chose at our previous session. Have some snacks and discuss. The theme for next month’s meeting will also be discussed. Speed Read will meet once a month, on the 4th Wednesday. Creative Writing (Grades 6-12)

New Milford Public Library invites students in grades 6 through 12 to join the Creative Writing Club. The meeting times are the first (1st) Wednesday of the month from 4-6 PM. Love to write? Meet others who do too! Come get writing tips, ideas, practice and share your writings. Also, you can contribute to "The Aura", our literary magazine!

This club is open to all teens and tweens in grades 7-12. Bring your own computer and come play with others and have snacks. The club meets the second (2nd) Monday of the month from 6-7 PM.

Come by yourself or bring your friends! For ages high school and adults! Play from 6-7 PM each night. This is not your Father's board games! Stock Market Game

Dare to try the Stock Market Experience? Then enroll in this investment simulation for Teens and Adults. Receive a hypothetical $100,000 to invest in the stock market. There are weekly lessons and the program is played entirely online. Register for this fun game and learn all about investing. Email vfisher@biblio.org to get a Password and ID.

YA Council

Calling all teens and tweens, grades 6-12! Come and join NMPL's Young Adult Council. We meet monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 4 PM. This is your chance to get involved, contribute, hang out, be heard and have fun! Come and plan programs and events at the Library; recommend books, DVDs and music for the Library; earn community service hours (this looks good on high school or college applications); write reviews for the blog.
