Adult Winter Reading Program
Just as winter starts getting us down and the end of holidays blues hits us, the Library and the FRIENDS of NMPL come to the rescue with the Adult Winter Reading program from January 9th through March 9th. NMPL—An Oasis of Escape will have the usual rules: you will receive a small gift just for signing up and you will receive a raffle ticket for each item you read that gives you the opportunity to win one of the 3 grand prizes at the end of the program, provided by our wonderful FRIENDS. First prize is a gift certificate to Executive Cuisine, second prize is a picnic basket, and the third prize is a picnic blanket – all of which you can use to create your own oasis of escape.

Special Programs
In addition, this year we are adding two evening programs with the ever-popular Patricia D’Ascoli to discuss Finn by John Clinch on February 1st and Hester: The Missing Years of the Scarlet Letter by Paula Reed on February 15th, both at 6:30 PM. Escape to a different perception with these books based on the classics! The Library will provide the books and the number is limited to 12 participants for each program, so sign up early!
